近來從網路一路延燒到各大超商的養生聖品「黑木耳」,其實,早在數年前,
台中就有黑木耳的專賣店「柯媽媽の植物燕窩」。「媽媽的膝蓋不好,醫生建議吃黑木耳食補。」
負責人柯雅惠,憶起當初無心插柳的創業過程,充滿意外與感謝。
“Black fungus” has recently become a popular health food,
selling big from online markets to supermarkets.In fact,
 the black fungus shop “Komama's Plant Swallows Nest” was established years ago in Taichung. 
“My mother has bad knees, and doctors advised her to eat black fungus to alleviate her troubles,
” says owner Ko Ya-wei,
recounting the inspiration behind the unplanned founding of her business with gratitude.

  
素食界的燕窩黑木耳
和原為同事、交情甚篤的李怡慧合作,柯雅惠一方面試著創業,另一方面希望照顧年事已高的父母,
於是以此為機緣,從黑木耳著手,在向上路的傳統市場擺攤,賣起柯媽媽親手熬煮的黑木耳露,
讓客人直接試喝,親身感受這項食材的種種好處,賣出名號與口碑後,也開啟了實體店鋪之路。
Working with former colleague and good friend Lee Yi-wei, 
Ko tried to build her business on the one hand and take care of her elderly parents on the other. 
Responding to this serendipity, Ko started with black fungus, 
running a stall at the traditional market on Xianshang Rd.
 and selling a black-fungus beverage made by her mother.
 She gave out taste samples to potential customers so that they could feel the benefits of the ingredient. 
After establishing her name in the business and building a solid reputation,
Ko decided to open a bricks-and-mortar shop.

在醫食同源的中醫領域裡,黑木耳極具營養價值,飽含蛋白質、鈣質和鐵質等,
坐擁「素中之葷」、「素食界的燕窩」等稱號。
而台灣本土栽種的白背黑木耳不僅熱量低,更可搭配各種食材做菜,柯雅惠看準商機,
以柯媽媽精選的天然白背乾黑木耳,加入紅棗、枸杞和微量冰糖,溫火熬煮出「黑木耳露」。
In Chinese medical tradition, which attributes medical properties to foods, 
black fungus is highly valued for its high nutritional value, rich in protein, calcium and iron.
 It is known as “vegetarian meat” and as the “swallow’s nest of vegetarian cuisine.” 
Taiwan’s white-back black fungus has low calorific capacity,
and can be accompanied by other ingredients.
 Ko saw the business opportunities, and used white-back black fungus hand-picked by her mother, 
adding jujube, wolfberry and a little rock candy in a slow boil to make her black-fungus beverage.

堅持製程中不添加任何防腐劑或人工香料的黑木耳養生露,除了經典原味,更加入蘆薈、蘋果、
燕麥、拿鐵等,研發出多口味的系列飲品。其中,廣受大、小朋友喜愛的黑木耳健康凍、鮮奶凍,
則是在黑木耳養生露中,添加天然海藻萃取物,加熱後再凝結成凍,是一道滑順彈牙的養生甜點。
Ko insists that no preservatives or artificial condiments are added in the production of her black-fungus beverage. 
In addition to the classic original flavor, she has also developed other unique flavors such as aloe, 
apple, oats, and latte. Her black-fungus jelly and black-fungus milk jelly,
popular with both children and adults, 
are produced by adding natural extracts from natural seaweed into the black-fungus beverage, 
which are heated and congealed into jelly. The result is a healthy dessert that is smooth and springy.

鮮奶凍則是參考老主顧建議後所推出的健康凍進階版,散發著微微乳香,
還可自行淋上焦糖或蜂蜜,黑木耳與蜜糖交相撞擊後,在口中迸發的美妙滋味令人難以忘懷。
The milk jelly is an upgraded version of the familiar,
standard jelly that was developed after a suggestion by an old-time customer. 
It has the aroma of milk, and can also be served with caramel or honey. 
The blending of the fine tastes of black fungus and honey creates lasting memories for all those who taste it.


一種黑木耳無限種創意
兩位創辦人每週固定撰寫部落格、每月定期開發新品、每天誠懇對待顧客,透過和客人交心,
分享黑木耳的種種好處,在台灣各地培養出不少忠誠顧客,甚至和客人成為真實生活中的朋友,
彼此交換黑木耳的食用心得與研發創意,這些是當初柯雅惠和李怡慧始料未及的。
Through weekly blog posts, monthly new products, and daily interaction with customers,
 the two founders share the benefits of black fungus with their customers. As a result,
they have many dedicated customers all over Taiwan,
some of whom have even become personal friends, 
sharing the experience of eating black fungus as well as the process of R&D innovation with the pair. 
These have all been unexpected developments for Ko and Lee.

黑木耳除了做成飲品,口感彈脆、久煮不爛的特性,更適合烹調入菜,
不論是肉品或蔬食,皆能提昇菜餚整體的層次,高纖維質含量更是大大地為營養加分。
 近來他們更顛覆黑木耳的刻板印象,製成彈牙帶勁的「黑木耳QQ圓」,外觀和粉圓相似,
 但更富嚼勁,而且低卡養生。除了可放入飲品一起食用,也可當做甜點一顆一顆單吃。
 源源不絕的食用創意,讓人期待「柯媽媽の植物燕窩」下一次還會推出何種驚艷新吃法。
 In addition to making beverages, springy, crispy black fungus, 
with its ability to undergo cooking for a long period without becoming soft, 
makes it especially suitable as a food ingredient in both meat and vegetable dishes. 
It elevates the overall flavor of dishes, while its high fiber content adds nutrition to the food.
